It is not a new story, but it is a significant story that Representative Rashida Tlaib recently declared, "I want you all to know that among progressives, it's become clear that you cannot claim to hold progressive values, yet back Israel’s apartheid government, and we will continue to push back and not accept that you are progressive except for Palestine."
Tlaib previously asserted that Israel's creation is a "catastrophe" and proposed that Congress pass a resolution affirming her antisemitic views. Tlaib and her fellow travelers perpetuate violence by promoting Arab terrorists and Arab terrorism.
There are many left-wing people who are critical of right-wing people who do not condemn racism--but such statements are hypocritical unless and until left-wing people clean up the mess within their own camp. Antisemitism from the Left is a growing threat, but it is not "politically correct" to speak about this.
In case you have not noticed, I don't care about being "politically correct." I think that both major U.S. political parties are full of hypocrites, narcissists and self-promoters. It is both comical and tragic that the various partisan TV networks and media outlets are so quick to recognize the other side's faults but yet remain silent about the faults within their own camp.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Rep. Brad Sherman, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, Rep. Ritchie Torres, and Rep. Ted Deutch rebuked Tlaib for her blatant antisemitism--but that is not enough of a response from the Democratic Party to the hatred that is being regularly spewed under their banner. The floor is yours, Democrats, particularly members of the self-proclaimed/self-promoting "Squad": Does Rashida Tlaib speak for you, or will you disavow her evil words and dissociate yourself from her?
thoughts on the former President's social media message about Jews and the ADL's reaction? https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-critical-of-us-jews-in-social-media-post/ar-AA131RRB ; https://news.yahoo.com/adl-chief-trump-post-american-161023537.html
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: I think that the former President's message is typical narcissistic Trump: he is praising himself for being great for Israel, and he is puzzled/upset that he is not receiving more praise for being great for Israel. That is his stance about most issues: "I am great and everyone should praise me for being great." I would not put that particular message in the same category as Rep. Tlaib's consistent pattern of making overtly antisemitic and anti-Zionist statements, and her consistent endorsement of antisemitic and anti-Zionist policy positions. The ADL slants to the Left, and will not miss an opportunity to criticize politicians from the Right. The ADL has lost focus on its mission to fight antisemitism regardless of its source, and thus the ADL has lost a lot of credibility.
